Administration division deals with the tasks like manpower of the Commission, appointment, promotion, posting, transfer, training, arrangements of meeting, seminars, office building maintenance, procurement and maintenance of office equipments, procurement and maintenance of vehicles, IT activities, management of library and stores, protocol services, despatch and other activities. 


1. Library:

                 A Modern and organized library exists in the Commission. It remain open from 9am to 5pm. It is known as the “Library and Information Resource Center” of BTRC.  There are almost 1,610 books on telecommunication and IT of International Standard collected from home and abroad. Besides, all leading news papers of the country and recent journals from home and abroad  are also made available in this library. The employees of the Commission make good use of the library to keep them updated.

The Administration division has taken various steps to collect books on latest technologies and newly edited books from renowned publishers to increase the standard of the library.

  • E-Library:

Information can be easily exchanged through the e-library of BTRC. Even any information required from abroad can easily be collected through this e-library, officers from BTRC very often attend various meeting/seminar/workshop outside the country. In such cases, concerned officer can prepare necessary documents/paper for the respective meeting/seminar/workshop, which becomes very informative.

  • Management System Software:

The Library and information Resource Center of BTRC is being transformed into a modern library and information Resource Center through “Management System Software”. A draft plan has already been formulated in this regard.

2. Vehicle Management:

              Administration division carries out the task of procure necessary vehicles, their use and maintenance of those on behalf of the Commission. This division is very much concerned to ensure transport facilities for the officers and the employees of the Commission. There are four officers under one Deputy Director responsible for vehicle management of the Commission.

3. Construction of BTRC office Building at Agargaon:

            The registration of one acre land at Agargaon administrative area (Plot # E 5/A), Which was allotted by the government, has already been done. In order to construct boundary wall surrounding the allotted land of BTRC, The public works department-3 have issued re-work order to two constructing farms and the work is now going on. To construct a modern office building, the Architect department is preparing a design of proposed office complex of BTRC. 

4. Designated Officer:

            According to the rules of Bangladesh Information Right Act 2009, The Undersized officer of BTRC has been assigned as an designated officer:-

5. Information Technology Branch:

               At present 6 (six) officers/employers are working in the information Technology (IT) section, Contained under the administration department of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission. The activities of the section is simultaneously increased, as the activities of the Commission has been enormously expanded. In order to make this section more modernized and technology based, the Commission have taken various steps. Along with the increase of manpower of the Commission, the official use of internet has been enormously increased. As per the demand of the increased manpower and internet users, initiatives has been taken to increase the present bandwidth speed. In order to make the activities of IT section more speedy and constant, purchase of online UPS for server room and the purchase of “application server” for applications of different division are under process. Besides, that modernization of IP PABX, is under progress.                            

IT branch is responsible to perform the under mentioned activities.

(b)   To maintenance of IP, PABX System.

(c)    To maintenance of mail and web server.

(d)   To maintenance of Video Surveillance System.        

(e)    To maintenance Access Control System.
