WTISD 2009 Theme: Protecting Children in Cyberspace
This year, to mark World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, ITU Council adopted the theme: Protecting children in cyberspace. The theme of this year’s WTISD aims at ensuring that children can safely access the Internet and its valuable resources without fear of falling prey to unscrupulous predators in cyberspace.
there are a large number of cyber cafe in our country. it is really difficult to check them all. but if you can give service for home users at a low prize then i think it is more useful. besides now in bangladesh more over every student have personal computer but they cant take internet connection for its high prize.. if you pple give an eye on this problem then we can make digital bangladesh in very short time..thanks

i agree with saadi and its true.its not possible for everyone to pay about 1000tk for monthly charge of net in pc.and many dont feel to get connected with such low speed.so they rely on cyber cafes.its ovious,isnt it? so please try to decrease the net cost in our country.we have greater hopes for our country and we all want to fulfill it.reduce the cost and the problem will be solved
I also agree with all above. Mobile internet should be cheaper also. I think it is now popular to use internet with mobile phone. Mobile call rate should be cheap and simple. People are very much upset by their various packages. I hate their package system.
I also agree with Saadi & Musfiqur… Its not possible for every one to pay 1000 up taka for 1 month. I’m paying 1200 taka for 1 month & i get Only 96kbps speed.If u people solve this problem we can make digital bangladesh in very short tym.. Thanks!
I am also agree with Saadi. Another problem have that is who leave in village how can he will be brows internate? It is also true that citycell zoom, grameen phone etc. is given internate service by using there modem but it is also very costly. so what is my expectation please decrease all net cost with broadband & modem user who use by mobile phone or modem then we can make ditital bangladesh in everywehre within short time. only lower rate of internet connection may help the country to develop technologically i.e. we r referring to DIGITAL BANGLADESH. a marooned and undeveloped place can b developed merely by its own resources if there is a road linked with the urban market. nothing more than is required. and in this era internet (High Speed!!!!!!!!) is that of the link road.

Internet should be made cheaper for students. Its often not possible for students to afford internet in a high price whereas they are badly in need of internet for study purposes. In every varsity & varsity halls internet service should be ensured for every student in a cheaper rate.

A lot of ppl hav discussed the need for cheaper & faster net connections.
But another issue needs to be addressed. A lot of web resources require payment via credit cards or paypal or other online payment systems.
For example u want to read a book or access a website or want to enroll for a online training program ……. U can’t. Coz u have no way to pay for it.
I know that this might be used improperly but maybe the govt. can put a limit on how much u can use over one year. lets say 100~200 USD maximum per person.
This should be traceable because banks are interconnected now and every1 has a National ID number.
Anyways that my 2 cents. - Peace.

In my point of view,Internet charges should be decrease for
our advancement from every knock n corner(such as communication,increase knowledge depth,etc)via online.

Buying a computer and playing game is not enough for children. It is very useful now to teach them about technology in their school. Making them prepare for creating something or providing home work to develop something which will be presented in the whole class. Making a very sound communication with the students and parents through internet instead of papers. Making an extra class based on technology not only the RAM, HDD, OS, Keyboard, Mouse,etc.But we have to make sure that all of this cost is reasonable. Making children busy in schoolspace or homespace instead of cyberspace.
ya…u feel this problem and i suffer this very much…i am a student and our school has a few computers but there is no internet…so internet will be available everywhere….
